Welcome to the home of K of C PA District 60 in Lancaster County!

The purpose of the district website is to have one place that all of the leaders of the Councils in the District can visit to obtain information that is important to all Council leaders. Also, information on activites open to the public within the district will be posted here. You will find degree schedules, program information, important dates, and more. Please take some time to browse the site, and check back often for updates.

The Central East Caucus of the PA Knights is often called "The Heartland of Columbianism." District 60 is the "Garden Spot of the Heartland!"

San Juan Bautista Co. 14527 Leaves Our District

San Juan Bautista Co. 14527 is no longer in District 60. They have been moved to District 59. It was an extreme pleasure working with them last year. They were a true asset to our District, and will be them same in their new District. Thank you to all Council Officers and Brothers for all of your hard work and dedication. I do not need to say I will miss you, though, because I know we will still see each other from time to time!!!

Best ot luck,

Scott

District 60 Welcomes Mater Ecclesiae Co. 14786!

A new Council has been established at Mary Mother of the Church in Mt. Joy. They are Mater Ecclesiae Co. 14786. Success here is one more step toward Father McGivney's dream of one Council in each Parish.

The Council is established, and Officers will be elected in July. Congratulations to Acting Grand Knight Howard Sher and all of the Steering Commitee for their work! Also, I would like to that my NCD team: Richard Killian, Greg Fitzpatrick, Gerry Krall, Joe Nickolas and Jack Mitchell for their time and talent.

Last, but not least, I would like to thank GK Dan Dacey and all of the members of the Father Daley Co. 4191 First Degree Team from Ephrata the Exemplifications of the First Degrees for this Council. I would also like to thank Wayne Moyer from Co. 12532 and Bill Hoover from Co. 6810 who were part of the team.

The next First Degree date that will be held there is included in the Degree Dates list.

2009 - The Year of the Volunteer

"If greed helped push us into this crisis, then generosity will be necessary to pull us out." - Supreme Knight Carl Anderson

Our Supreme Knight has asked us to make 2009 "the year of the volunteer." Knights have, are, and always will be leaders in volunteerism in their Parishes and communities. As volunteerism declines, we as Knights have a moral duty to counter this trend with our time and talent.

As you look to build your programs, please keep this in mind!

K of C Supreme launches two new web sites for Catholics.

The Knights of Columbus has two new web sites for the benefit of Catholics. The first - Headline Bistro - is an internet-based news and information service for Catholics everywhere. The second - Fathers for Good - brings forth information related to Supreme Knight Carl Anderson's message, "Fatherhood is a gift, a privilege and a responsibility."
